Mr Ogunsipe Amobi Adewale was born on the 4th June, 1970 in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State. He attended Ejigbo Baptist High School and Iwo Grammar School for his Secondary Education which he completed in 1987.
To accomplish his desire for tertiary education, he was admitted and successfully completed a Bachelor of Art degree with honours in Religious Studies from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria in 1994. Mr Ogunsipe, in demonstration of his love for professionalism, proceeded to the premier University in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan, where he also successfully completed a Masters degree program in Library, Archival and Information Studies in the year 1998.
To be in tune with the information and technological realities of this age, he enrolled and successfully completed a programme leading to the award of Diploma in Computer Techniques and Applications from the University of Ibadan. His ambition to be a successful tutor took him to the famous Usman Danfodiyo University of Sokoto where he capped his credentials with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 2005. He served his fatherland for his NYSC at Ekpoma, Benin City, Edo State in 1995.
Mr Ogunsipe was employed as Librarian III on temporary appointment from 4th 2000 to 10th February, 2005. For his diligence, hard work, resilience and professionalism his appointment was made permanent from 2005 where he rose through the ranks to become the Chief Librarian in 2017 and Deputy Librarian with effect from 3rd August, 2022. He was found suitable and qualified to head the University Library. Consequently, the Executive Governor and the Visitor to the University, His Excellency Adewale Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke suitably appointed Mr Ogunsipe as the pioneer University Librarian of the University of Ilesa. This appointment was effective from 11th April, 2023.
Mr Ogunsipe is indeed a scholar of note. As a researcher he has over nineteen publications to his credit published in reputable Journals.
Mr Ogunsipe is a member of three Professional Associations. He is a Chartered Librarian with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN); Member, Nigeria Library Association (NLN) and Member, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and he participates actively in all their activities and programs both at the state and National Levels. As a team player and a role model that he is, Mr Ogunsipe served the erstwhile Osun State College of Education, Ilesa and the community in various Committees from 2003 to 2021.
Mr Ogunsipe is happily married to his beautiful wife Mrs Funke Ogunsipe and the union is blessed with four lovely Children including twins.
