Private and Commercial Law
The Department of Private and Commercial Law is one of three Departments approved by the University Senate upon the establishment of the Faculty of Law. The two other Departments are Department of Public and International Law and the Department of Islamic and Customary Law. Some of the subject courses domiciled in the Department of Private and Commercial Law are: Law of Contract; Labour Law; Commercial Law; Law of Torts; Sports Law; Law of Banking and Negotiable Instruments; Family Law; Insurance Law; Equity and Trusts Law; Property Law; Entertainment Law; Law of Intellectual & Industrial Property; Law of Succession; Construction Law; Jurisprudence & Legal Theory; Company Law; Administrative Law; Legislative Drafting; Oil & Gas Law; Law of Taxation; Conveyancing Law.
