Mukaila Oyesegun OYEKANMI was born in the early 70s. He is a native of Ede, Osun State. He attended Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School Ede and Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo. He graduated from the University of Ilorin in 1997 with B.Sc in Accounting and had Masters in Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 2017, then a Ph.D. in Accounting from Osun State University in 2022. He is also computer literate.
Oyekanmi M. O. is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He has held many positions such as Pioneer Acting Head of Internal Audit, at Osun State University, between September 2007 and December 2008. He headed several units in the Bursary Department, at Osun State University between 2009 and 2017, when he eventually became the acting Bursar of the University and served between July 2017 and March 2018. He was the Director of Internal Audit of Osun State University, Osogbo between November 2018 and April 2023 before he was appointed as the Bursar, university of Ilesa, Ilesa, Osun state. He has attended both local and international conferences.
